After the Checklist of the Birds of Nanhui Dongtan was published on November 26, 2018, some new bird records were released till December 31. In particular, a black stork was photographed on December 15 and 16, it was the first record at Nanhui Dongtan, and added to the checklist.
2019年1月24日上海野鸟会发布了上海鸟类名录2018，基于IOC World Bird List version 9.1和中国鸟类名录6.0。南汇东滩鸟类名录是基于上海鸟类名录，因此随之也作了一些更新。
WildBird Society of Shanghai released the Checklist of the Birds of Shanghai in 2018 on January 24, 2019, based on the IOC World Bird List version 9.1 and the CBR Checklist of Birds of China v6.0. The Checklist of the Birds of Nanhui Dongtan is based onthe Shanghai Bird List and updated consequently and accordingly.
Chinese bird name of Japanese Scop Owl and Styan’s Grasshopper Warbler are changed.
Common Magpie and Japanese White-eye are changed to Oriental Magpie and Swinhoe’s White-eye.
The scientific names are changed subsequently as following birds, Spoonbill Sandpiper, Black-winged Cuckoo-shrike, Oriental Magpie, Manchurian Bush Warbler, White-spectacled Warbler, Marsh Grassbird, Pallas’s Grasshopper Warbler, Styan’s Grasshopper Warbler, Middendorff’s Grasshopper Warbler, Swinhoe's White-eye.
在新的分类系统中，将原日本树莺Horornis diphone下的canturians亚种重新置还于远东树莺Cettia canturians之下，日本树莺Horornis diphone在上海鸟类名录中只剩下了riukiuensis亚种，这个亚种在南汇东滩没有明确的记录，因此将日本树莺从南汇东滩鸟类名录中删除。
The new taxonomic system placed spp. canturians back from Japanese Bush Warbler (Horornis diphone) to Manchurian Bush Warbler (Cettia canturians), so Japanese Bush Warbler (Horornisdiphone) on the Shanghai Bird List is only left spp siukiuensis. Since no record of spp. siukiuensis is confirmed in Nanhui Dongtan so far, Japanese Bush Warbler is removed from the Checklist of the Birds of Nanhui Dongtan.
The Checklist of the Birds of Shanghai in 2018 changes Black-naped Monarch and Plumbeous Water Redstart from category F (the species introducedand stable breeding in Shangahi for not more than 10 years after escape orrelease) to category A (the wild bird species confirmed in Shanghai). Therefore, the number of bird species in the Checklist of the Birds of Nanhui Dongtan which are excluded in the Checklist of the Birds of Shanghai 2018 category Adecreased two species, and addes the new one, Ijima’s Leaf Warbler, thefollowing are Red-crowned Crane, Jack Snipe, White-browed Laughingthrush, Orange-headed Thrush and Fork-tail Sunbird, total 6 species.
The Checklist of the Birds of Nanhui Dongtan 2018 Rev 2 is verified, revised and adjusted to the notes in the firstrevision, such as bird species visibility, residence type and rare bird species record.
Since 2002, the number of bird species here has reached 407, accounting for 28% (407/1470) of the number of bird species in China and 84% (407/484) of the number of bird species in Shanghai, among which there are 215 species of non-passeriformes (19 orders, 38 families) and 192 species of passeriformes (34 families).
